Steven G. Rise, PhD, LCSW-R

Steve Rise is licensed in the State of New York as a psychotherapist (LCSW-R). He also holds a PhD from Atlantic Coast  Theological Seminary in Christian Counseling.  He owns and operates New Hope Counseling and has primarily served the Christian community by meeting the emotional needs of fellow believers, while challenging them to apply the truth of God’s Word to their lives.  Steve is also an elder at the Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church in Huntington Station.  Steve specializes in trauma and abuse, and holds the diplomat status as a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress (BCETS) and a Board Certified Expert in Emergency Crisis Response (BCECR) with the American Association of Experts in Traumatic Stress.  Steve has completed advanced training with the EMDR Institute, in addition to several other specific trainings in trauma, recovery and specific mental disorders which applies to every age group from childhood throughout adulthood.  Specialized areas of training included addiction, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, adjustment and attachment disorders and anxiety disorders in addition to other types of emotional disturbance in the context of individual, couple and family therapy.

 

Stacey C. Rise, LMSW

Stacey Rise obtained her license in the profession of social work from Adelphi University in 1991.  Her areas of specialty are focused on the psychological, social and spiritual needs of children and women and the family dynamics which effect their behavior.  Stacey’s prior experience includes working with children in behavioral, cognitive and family systems approaches, counseling cancer patients and families, and loss and bereavement counseling.  Stacey is also a member of the Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church.

 

Dawn McCabe, LCSW

Dawn McCabe is licensed in the State of New York as a psychotherapist (LCSW). She obtained her degree in social work from Columbia University. She has over 15 years of experience including helping to strengthen children and families in school-based counseling services. Dawn is trained in trauma, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, divorce and other behavioral disorders. She uses a multi modal approach with Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies that teach people to develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationship with others. She also uses applied behavioral analysis and interventions which help to improve specific behaviors such as social skills, communication and mood regulation so they can be more successful in their lives. Dawn believes strongly that God has created each one of us uniquely with a purpose and helps in the process of letting God transform broken lives into something of beauty.  “He gives peace, heals hearts and trades beauty from ashes” Isaiah 61:3   She is also a member of CenterPoint Church on Long Island. She has served in several ministries including the children’s program, divorce group and other ministries in the church.
